About: Meghan Burton
Name:
Meghan Burton
Job title:
SEO & Social Media Manager
Areas of expertise:
Copy Writing, Social Networks, SEO
Profile:
Meghan holds an MA in Medieval Studies from the University of York and often likes to pretend that she is living in the Middle Ages, but without the high rates of death and still with Twitter and Facebook of course. Originally from New Jersey, USA, she went to Brandeis University in Boston, Massachusetts for a BA in English literature and history. She has previously had internships in museums and historic libraries, writing copy for exhibits and taking photographs of her favourite medieval manuscripts. Her two book-length research dissertations as well as her nearly twenty years as a voracious reader have lent Meghan the skills to help her write excellent copy for WMpS’s clients. Since starting at WMpS, however, she's discovered an interest and talent in SEO and has eagerly accepted the challenge of helping clients move up the search rankings. Her passion for social media and networking stems from the well-connected and award-winning book review blog she has managed since being at university. She now enjoys refining and reshaping these principles for her clients' social media campaigns.
Out of Work Interests:
Meghan’s favourite leisure activity is reading, which she’s been doing since age five. She currently runs a book blog, Medieval Bookworm, where she posts reviews, mainly of historical fiction, and connects with other readers all over the globe. She aspires to be a historian, even if only an amateur one. She also enjoys playing video games, cooking from scratch, and spending time with her husband and friends.
Favourite ecommerce website:
The Book Depository because it has a fantastic graph showing who is buying what worldwide, offers free shipping everywhere as standard, and ships each book with a cute little bookmark specially designed for the site.
Favourite social network:
Twitter
